  • 334,993 people were treated through Victoria’s public dental services – 9,136 more than the previous year.
  • Of these:
    • 215,819 were adults
    • 119,804 were children
    • 140,539 were Emergency patients
  • Across the state of Victoria there were:
    • 87 public dental clinics at 58 community agencies
    • 368 public dental chairs
    • 15 DHSV-leased relocatable public dental clinics and dental vans
    • 367 out of 1,698 kindergartens running the DHSV Smiles4Miles health promotion program [Please note this is 2008-09 data. 2009-10 figures available in October 2010]
  • At The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne there were:
    • 139 dental chairs
    • 51,710 patients treated
    • 27,679 fillings placed
    • 2,742 dentures made
    • 1,282 teeth given root canal treatment
