Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) is committed to Aboriginal health care initiatives to help Victorians in need and help close the gap between the health of indigenous and non-indigenous people.

If you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne (RDHM) offers you emergency and general dental care treatment, regardless of whether you hold a concession card.

You can receive priority access and assistance with booking and attending appointments at RDHM.  This is offered through our dedicated Aboriginal Community Development Worker, Jacqueline Watkins and our Aboriginal Liaison Officer, Carleen Miller.

Jacqueline and Carleen actively engage and support members of the Aboriginal community in accessing oral health care.

The DHSV Aboriginal Oral Health Reference Group meets quarterly and includes members from metropolitan and rural Aboriginal Health Services. The group's key aim is to gather perspectives on how oral health services can best be delivered in these communities.
