Oral Health Project of the Year Award nomination


What we are looking for

The Oral Health Project of the Year Award recognises public oral health projects that bring value to patient care and improve health outcomes.

About your nomination

Top Tip 1: Plan what you are going to write about the nominee before you start. Find three focus points and construct around a 75 word paragraph for each.

Top Tip 2: Include relevant (and brief) statistical data to back up claims made regarding treatment and patient satisfaction outcomes.

Who can be nominated?

Any specific oral health project being undertaken in Victoria’s public dental clinics can be nominated, including those undertaken by public dental teams within public hospitals in metropolitan and regional areas.

Projects should demonstrate the value they bring to patient care and how they improve health outcomes that matter to patients with minimal waste of time and resources. Projects can include but are not limited to:

  • Innovative models of care
  • Health promotion strategies
  • Training and development initiatives
  • Staff wellbeing and retention projects
  • Research projects
  • Private partnership outreach initiatives
  • Risk-minimisation and accreditation strategies
  • eHealth integration projects
  • Corporate responsibility programs

Previous winners are not eligible for re-nomination for five years.

Tell us about the project you are nominating

In 700 words or less*, please outline how your nominated project has shown excellence in public dentistry.

The judging panel will take into account the following considerations in reaching their decision:

  • How the project has shown excellence in improving health outcomes within a population health framework
  • How the project has shown excellence in improving the patient experience

*Submissions exceeding the 700 word limit will be deemed ineligible.

We encourage you to include supporting documentation with your nomination. Supporting documents can include references, biographies, newspaper articles etc.

By providing these documents the panel will have a better understanding of why you think your nominee should be selected. All documentation will be retained by Dental Health Services Victoria.
